Anybody clued up?

4 years ago i bought a couple of hundred quids of shares in a little VPN company.

Not for anything other than to say i had gave it a try but have fairly recently found out them 200 quids worth of shares are now at about 1.3k!

A grand would give me some serious breathing space at the min. Would really clear a few millstones.

Is it worth cashing in just for the "space" it would give me? I know its risk/reward but surely clearing a few things now would be just as beneficial to me as 2k in a year.?

It was not that long ago i considered a grand in the bank as "chump change". Fast forward 3 years and its like winning the lottery.

Is this something i should do to ease some "mental health" pressures now?.

My own thoughts? Breathing space sounds fucking immense to me!.

It's your choice Ken. If you cash out and they plummet, then happy days but the opposite is not so good. It's a gamble.

It makes me realise what a smug twat i must of been a few years ago.

Had no worries etc. Coasting through life without a care in the world then BOOM!.
How quick it all crumbles is astonishing.

1 nicking was all it took.

This is why i hope you all get and understand my "passion" that if i have anything to do with it i would not wish it on my worst enemy (Ok maybe 1 person tbh) and will do my hardest to make sure it dont happen to anyone else.

If my trial was just 2 months later i could be doing a 2 stretch now.

Remember i was originally charged with "incitement".....

you beat me to it. There was a lad on the other place who told in fact insisted that people bought them.

My boss at the time told me they were a certainty as they had employed a new top engineer.

I stayed well away.

The only shares I have ever bought have been on share schemes with work.

I bought some shares last year in Marks & sparks , was under a grand but I found myself looking at the share price hourly, I can get a bit compulsive with things like that.

In the end I made a couple of hundered quid profit cashed in and vowed never too look at the price again and still haven't.

So if you need the cash do the same take the profit and move on.

Hello! Lol sorry been doing a KIT day at work.

Can you take out £1k's worth and leave £300 in? That way you've taken out your profit for now, and left your original value in + a bit extra. Then if they do increase in value you're not fully losing out.

Pete's right in what he says about not looking if you do cash them out though, don't torture yourself!

that describes me. It's why I keep well away from giving advice.

If you need to, then cash in.
If it's a cybersecurity company that provides VPN services, then all it takes is one big breach and things can go a bit tits up. I lost a fair bit on Crowdstrike the other week. Personally, I wouldn't want too many eggs in that kind of basket.

I got hit for 4ks worth, a drop in the ocean to some, I got greedy, at one point they doubled in price to what I paid....But you always think shares are going to rise and rise and get a bit greedy.........Hindsight hey!!

One of my relatives had a load when them and ICI split the shares in half.
He'd be a millionaire now, but no doubt they would have been cashed in many times between then and now, can't believe the price of them now. 😳
