Quote from: In With the Lurpak on August 29, 2024, 04:20:45 AMHeil Keith draws up  new plans to ban outdoor smoking/Vaping at pubs, football matches, outside shops any events, almost anywhere except your back garden .

I see more vapers these days than smokers if  Ze Liebor are going to fine people for a tab or vape outside the pubs for a start will be finished. Starmer will probably want you jailed for 6 months if caught lighting up twice in a week outside. Release that dangerous pervert from prison put that Vaper in his cell.

all the above was implemented by the outgoing Tories. The legislation stopped for the election.

Good story though.

Once again Blott makes a whopper out of himself.

as normal I have no idea what you are on about. The policy was driven by Sunak, it is that simple. Me I don't care one way or the other.

His Rwanda policy came out of an unlucky bag.

Do you think Zalenskyy will make Moscow the capital of Greater Ukraine?

According to the Tory Esther MC Vay it is equivalent to the holocaust.

'Then they came for the Jews. And I did not speak out.' And Ms McVey added underneath the verse: 'Pertinent words re Starmer's smoking ban'.

And they get just as much fun from leftie blowhards.

You can put FBPE in your profile if you want.............

BoroRedKen

And yet Blotts you are all for this "rulings".

I do not like alcohol or the damage and effects it has on wider societal issues but fuck me i would defend someones personal choice whether to have a pint.

Remember it was not long ago the public were "banned" from just going outside for a coffee with friends.

I will open the Boros 1st "SmokeEasy" if they totally ban smoking (Which every single 1 of us knows they will never do......).

BoroRedKen

A&E's and hospitals clogged up with fucking smackheads. The amount of druggies i have seen in JCUH this last 18 months, abusing staff and the facilities, is mind blowing.

But put the kid gloves on for these fucking wasters and criminals..........

all my family smoked, to be fair most have now stopped. Even the pub never bothered me, do I want to sit in pub next to a smoker, not now. But why not give them a room, no food, and they have to walk to another bar for their drinks. There is never middle road.

It's like Global Warning. We go from one extreme (no pun intended) to another. Cars now do 50 mpg it used to be about 20. We had coal generators and now we don't. One step at a time.

BoroRedKen

But "boozing" is cool.

From 2011 to 2021 6,740 people were killed in RTC's were the driver was over the legal limit.

Up to 2021 49% of DV cases were proven that the perpetrator had been drinking prior (Based on 947,000 cases.) (Some studies have the figure as high as 73%).

65% of "stranger crimes" (assaults etc) were committed by people under the influence.

In 2020 the cost of smoking to the NHS was 3.3 billion.
By contrast, and in fairness, the cost of "alcohol abuse" to the NHS was......
3.2 billion.......

Ken we can't stop what people enjoy, at best we can control it.
