I thought Clarke was outstanding, the keeper is top notch, Jones caused lots of problems, the American a 8/10, Engels did nothing wrong, in fact apart for 15 minutes towards the end we were an 8.

I agree with all of that. I also thought Latte Lath & Riley McGree closed down well, Hackney looked a bit rusty (understandably) and Azaz needs to up his game especially with with a hungrier looking Burgzorg breathing down his neck.

Can we keep that back 5 injury free for a good part of the season, get them knowing each others game inside out, when you think they played together last season they should & with Lenihan & Fry (hopefully) available soon it looks promising

Teally impressed withvus in the fiirst half, yes players were rusty & as I said on anotber thread it will take 3, 4 games for their sharpness, fitness to come, but the second half was like watching England, slow & lethargic, hot day, too much running in the first half

Though one thing I've noticed about Carrick he's not quick at using his subs, Swansea did today & got a grip in the second half due to fresh legs, he's still learning it'll come

A bit blasé Southgate-esque when it comes to subs,
Must be hard when you have seen the lads train all week and just know they have the ability to beat or contain the opposition.
But the supporters didn't see them training sessions so don't know what you know.
