Boro flashback - August 4th 1984

This was the time leading up to our lowest ebb as a football club when the club, Willie Maddren, organised a mini pre season Scottish tour

Willie Maddren went knocking on doors of local companies to help finance with transprt, teaining kits etc to these games & ended up with a hired mini bus both Willie & David Mills sharing the driving team mini bus to Scotland then to each game,

On match days when they got close to the ground Willie ordered the players off the bus making them walk because he was embarrassed that we were travelling up in a mini bus & didn't want other teams thinking less of us. 

What a great man he was, always thinking of the Boro
