Boro flashback - 2nd August 1975

1975 seen the mighty Boro win our first major trophy with the introduction of the the Anglo Scottish Cup taking over from the previous tournament the Texaco cup

Same format as the Texaco cup with 4 teams playing each other the once in a group format with the group winners going through in to a knockout stage & to face Scottish opposition

Boro's group consisted of the same 4 teams from the previous season, Us, Sunderland, Carlisle & Newcastle

Sunderland were our first opponents

An attendance of 12,849 seen the mighty Boro beat our rivals  3-2 with goals from Graeme Souness, John Craggs & Bobby Murdoch

With the football season 2 weeks away big Jack fielded his strongest team possible
