I agree the cops do need to go back on the beat. Trouble is, the amount of cops you'd need to do that. How many cops do you think are on duty in Teesside after 1am for example? It's often not double figures.

Police budgets have been gutted over the years and to get community policing back on the go will not be cheap, but it would make things better. We always knew our local copper. Couldn't tell you who our local one is in Acklam.

Need to go back to each area having their own policing hubs instead of everything being central, and Teesside gets fucked on the funding, so that needs sorting first
