But a football tournament at the end of the day is all about results, we finished top of the group, yes it's an anticlimax cos we were shite to watch but the objective was achieved.
I just hope we don't draw the next 4 games 0-0 and win them all on penalties, what an awful tournament that will have been. Probably best all round if in the next game, England get walloped and get it over and done with.

It must be hard to play and raise your game in the toxic environment that the England players are playing in.  Having beer glasses thrown at them is not going to help them improve.

As for Southgate, he's made some difficult decisions not bringing so called big name players and has gone against the press, who normally like to pick the team for the England manager.  I feel Saka and Bellingham haven't really impressed this tournament and we saw glimpses of what Foden can do last night. 

I've been screaming out for Mainoo to start the group games and from what little time Palmer got, I think he did enough to be in the next starting eleven.

I've watched international football since 1966 and know that group stage football is tedious and often a hard watch.  We've now progressed to the knockout stages and the real tournament begins.  Teams are less likely to sit back with eleven men behind the ball and games should be more open.

To call Southgate pragmatic is probably the understatement of the year. But in his defence he can't be solely at fault because certain "world class" players haven't shown up as yet.

Anyway, wasn't the biggest concern before the tournament started our defence? Yet in our three games so far Pickford has hardly been troubled - and I'd go as far to say of all the teams in the competition we've presented the fewest scoring opportunities to our opponents.

The bottom line is we just need to find a way of moving the ball from defence to attack a bit quicker. A lot quicker in fact. And I'm not sure Southgate has the capabilities to remedy that.
