We have representatives who are not working in the best interests of the country, clearly being influenced by their involvements with private health care firms, investment banking firms etc

They should not be above the law.. they should be subject to the same laws and restrictions that everybody in the real world is subject to.

Fraudulent claims in manifestos, blatant lies in parliament and uncompetitive contracts given out to their pals should be subject to fraud investigations and anti corruption laws.
