If i read 1 more "they pay tax and national insurance" i shall explode!

In order to pay just tax the 16/17 yr old would need to earn at least £242 p/w!

Come on!

How many are on that wage?

Does that mean that if you dont pay tax you should not be allowed to vote?...

Clem Fandango

It's a ploy to tap into typically left leaning young uns who are easily swayed by the woke topic of the day.

They should be raising the voting age to avoid the daft cunts.

16 year old- can't legally drink, can't legally drive a car so why should they be allowed to vote? Sherlock Sussex nails it.

fukyu

I'd put the age up to thirty, stop all the lefty daft cunts ( who all vote Tory once they get a mortgage and a couple of kids anyway.) :wankers:

The countries whose legal voting age is 20 include Nauru, Taiwan, and Bahrain. On the other hand, those states who can vote when 21 years or older are Oman, Samoa, Tokelau, Tonga, Singapore, Malaysia, Kuwait, Jersey, and Cameroon. The United Arab Emirates has the oldest legal voting age in the world. Citizens can only vote when they attain the age of 25 or older.

I wouldn't say that stand out as being particularly fair or democratic countries.

Taiwan had a referendum on lowering the voting age, that's quite democratic. Will Labour have a referendum on changing our voting age to 16?

As Sherlock said it's obviously a ploy for Labour to tap into the stoopid yoof indoctrinated by lefty teachers vote. This is even more important to them now that they're losing a chunk of their Muslim vote.

so the youth are left, teachers are left and muslims are left? and Labour is left..

again the left and the right boils down to where you want public money to go and I can't for the life of me figure out why folks would want their money to go to lazy bone idle non productive shareholders, inherited wealth where the money is going out of the country or being held rather than it going into public services where we can boost the well being and quality of life of normal everyday working class people.

we're being mugged off and folks are falling for every ounce of bullshit that is getting pumped out there.

do people really look at the likes of Rees Moog & Rishi Sunak and identify with them and trust them? even respect them?

BoroRedKen

Angela Raynor is obs leading the charge for the minority vote. That stuff in front of the Muslim men (AR was the ONLY female in the room btw) was toe-curling.

Then the baby of colour she was hugging.

All these politicians (red and blue) really do think the general public are stupid.

Now SKS saying he is a socialist. This is Labour snatching defeat from the jaws of victory if it continues.

Yes if you can look beyond the personal side of things. I dont care if they are a pauper or a prince. Its aligning yourself to the candidate you think can do what you believe you want them to do.

Always hear about Sunaks and Moog's "fortune". Starmer has a personal wealth of over 15 million. And he has a knighthood to boot!...

Lets have a quick quiz.

I shall use a particular supermarket as a guide.

Answer these questions.

1 Cost of 2 pints of milk.

2 Cost of a loaf of Warburtons bread (toastie size)

3 Cost of 250ml of Fairy Washing Up Liquid.

4 Cost of a 2ltr bottle of Pepsi (full fat!).

In reverse order -

Labour are a bit more left than the Tories who are now left of centre.

Muslims have voted Labour in huge numbers historically, in most northern towns they have infiltrated and, in some places, completely taken over councils. They are left but because Starmer didn't immediately support Palestine / Hamas, they're leaving in droves (Worker's Party - oh the irony, Islamic Party of Britain etc.)

Teachers are the products of indoctrination by previous left wing teachers and universities and are indeed left. Unlike those who leave education behind them and work for a living in the real world they never lose their childish lefty beliefs.

Yoof are what they're told to be by the aforementioned lefty teachers, so yes, they're left too.

Anyone remotely central or slightly right of centre these days is labelled a fascist and stupid children and teachers, and a collection of other scruffy workshy cunts, throw insults and milkshakes at them.

Page 48 of the 2019 Conservative manifesto had gerrymandering, voter suppression, data harvesting, manufactured consent, scrapping rights.. comparisons were made to article 48 of the Weimar Constitution! we had the unlawful proroguing of parliament.. all of which are considered very much in the realms of  far right fascist ideology. yet this was described as first nation conservatism! nowhere near. dangerous, unlawful and misleading.

Meanwhile Corbyn wanted at at 26%.. and that was called extreme leftist Marxism. Thatcher didn't want the rail privatised (a privatisation too far) and had Corporation tax at 35%.. John Major dropped it as low as 30%.

Yeah. I'm not going to change your mind or your opinion on stuff, you are not going to change my mind. At least maybe there will be a bit of understanding as to why we see things differently, where our perspective comes from.

I think the most frustrating thing is that we can argue until we are blue in the face, we have more in common with each other than the fuckers running the country and yet they get off scott free and get to keep shitting on us from a great height.

Boo hiss! you voted red, you voted blue, lefty loon, right wing nut job. everyone just wants what its best for themselves and their families.. unfortunately that goes for politicians too and they do exactly what is best for them and not us.

RR personified.

2 polar opposites but frank exchange of views and a "handshake" at the end.
