What the fuck.

All because a few footballs have died of dementia and Alzheimers over the last few years and there's links that heading a ball has detrimental effects on players brains.

My Nanna and Granddad both died with the above and they weren't footballers.
I see a lot of people in care homes that weren't footballers who are affected by Dementia or Alzheimers.

How the fuck does phasing out heading work in a real game?

I'm no neurologist, but, instinctively, it feels like repeated head impacts as a child must have some overall detrimental effect on cognitive function.

However, there is a growing body of research which indicates this may not be the case. A caveat is that, as this is a relatively new focus, there has been limited/no opportunity to study long term impact.

Like I said, I'm no expert.

I think the Dutch were the first to do this.. based on medical knowledge, data and research. There is a huge issue in American Football that has been rumbling on over the years.. improvements to headgear have alleviated wholesale changes to the game for now. Boxing has been a huge target for a number of years with calls to introduce headgear and even to ban boxing all together.

They don't ever seem to mention Rugby tho..

All bollocks, they'll probably ban it on the Play Station also, the crusty fucking tossers  :alf:
