Have we got any ITK round these parts? Has anyone heard much more about their injuries? At one point there was talk of Lenihan maybe being available for the back end of the season.. Tommy Smith less so.

Will we see them back in pre season and are either one of them likely to feature as the season starts?

Matt Clark made an amazing recovery after such a long time out, he seemed to hit the ground running on his return and was in contention for player of the season! It would be great to see two experienced and influential players come back into the fold as Clarke did.. but I guess for every Matt Clarke there is a Sammy Ameobi or a Darnell Fisher even Marcus Browne and Alex Baptiste ended up moving on.

We were talking about this at work last night, I said the same regarding Lenihan been out so long & do you think it will impact him now throughout his career
At one point Clarkes career was on the line with an injury noone could get to the bottom of, yet 18 months on the sidelines he came through all that to such an extent he was in the running for player of the season

Im hoping that with the cracking partnership of Clarke & VDB doing so well & at times Howson dropping in there, that Lenihans return wasnt needed as such & given more time to recover

Time will tell though

Paddy McNair has cleared off so Darragh Lenihans role in the squad becomes a lot more important than last.. as for Tommy Smith.. his injury absolutely ruined us! I though we needed a right back before the season started. Anfernee Dijksteel clearly isn't fancied and I think needs to move on.. Luke Ayling is smashing but I wouldn't fancy hanging my hat on him for the full season. If Tommy Smith isn't gonna be back the start of the season then we defo need cover

If he's back tho.. we're golden! Still.. probably need a young gun to be blooded at right back

Terrell Agyemang! he looked really classy in midfield last pre season.. I wasn't too convinced at right back.

Didn't get chance to see him play for Hartlepool.. anyone on here seen him play in the league?

Bryant Bilongo was another player who looked brilliant in pre season.. perhaps it was the summer before.. a proper marauding left back! I think he was being played at the left hand side of central defence at one point for the academy.

FHS, Paddy McNair is the other player who would play at the back with Clarke & VDB. As I was putting my initial post together I was telling myself theres another player im missing, other than Fry, but he goes missing to much to be considered as a reliable option, but couldnt put my finger in it, my memory is getting worse 😔
