Mini protest outside over the weekend because it has been bought and the rumour was it was going to be a Mosque.

It appears it was bought to be a Hindu temple/place of worship.

I hope the good people of Gtown realise there are great differences between Hindu and Muslims.

I have Hindu neighbours and have quite a few as friends and i cant think of nicer people tbh.

There is uproar over the council not saying anything about it we only found out when people started working in there and delivering materials yes I'm originally from grangetown I mainly drank in the Mary's Club when I was younger the council are trying to sweep it under the carpet and hope no one noticed oh and Johnny not just grangetown that stuff going on Eston has had some police raids on Westminster close

Worked with some lads from that area, Went to the mary's club with them before we all went to Redcar one night.. Big John & his side kick Brain I can not remember the surnames. Nice lads I was told Big John had died some time ago . rough old part of town G Town.

I don't remember many Stop backs in the Mary's I was only young in the early 80s only went in there for a few months the started exploring other pubs as for a rough area with lurpak from what I remember Southbank and parts of Eston were just as bad my missus is from Argyll Road area and won't have a bad word said about it I've seen areas just as bad in 2004 Carling cup final we stayed in Port Talbot the area was just like G/town just more modern council Houses I'm very proud of the area I grew up in

I wasn't from the area but we used to go for 6 swift pints and a game of pool then over the road to the Lackenby BOS plant for a night shift and if it looked like a quiet shift, climb through the hole in the fence avoiding security and go back till last orders. Happy days.

We all know under planning stuff and rules etc that the councilors, regardless of political affiliation, do know that stuff.

The issue is you stray from the story and "do a flyme" by straight away going on Tory bash.

If we are still breathing 1 year after labour get in we will have a beer and see if our thoughts and opinions have changed.

It used to get pretty full on a Thursday (pay packet day!) and the discos were always well attended but it could get a bit scary sometimes!
But you always knew some of the big lads would get stuck in and help.

From there i ended at i think it was the Peacock, opposite Elland Rd.
That was the worst place i ever worked. Always full of fuck they were on matchdays.
