On this day made his 1st team debut away to Huddersfield Town in a 1-0 defeat, when he replaced Bryan 'Taffy' Orritt in the starting line up

Regiatered No441, he wore No6 playing as WH for the Boro, a great servant to the mighty Boro he went on to play 318 games, plus 5 as sub, between 1963-1976 scoring 3 goals
He was also our 1st ever FAC sub when named No12 for the 1st round 5-2 away win at Chester 26th November 1966

16th Decemer 1969, Franks 1st Boro goal came in a home fixture against Birmingham City in a 4-2 win
15th April 1972, his 2nd Boro goal was at home to Norwich in a 1-0 win
9th March 1974 his 3rd & final Boro goal, the winner, at home to Millwall in a 2-1 & the last regular outfield player to score in that glorious, unforgettable season

20th March 1976 Franks final Boro game was at home to Derby in a 2-0 defeat, he was latee subbed by Brian Taylor

He never completed a full season of games during his time at the Boro, wearing shirt Nos, 2,3,4,5,6,8 & 12

Son in law of Harold Shepherdson, Frank was a very important member of the 1973-74 legends & had a well deserved testimonial at home to Dynamo Zagreb
