No wonder people look at the North East as a total shit hole.

Mrs is watching Geordie Shore and I've glanced at it a few times.  What a bunch of DafCun sluts.  Thankfully she has lived in the North East to know it's all like that.

Then you have police Interceptors in Teesside & stuff like Benefit Street.

I would happily move back to Teesside but just can't bring myself to do it as I have built up too much of a life here now and wouldn't have what I do here back home.

I love it here. I don't see those problems, the great majority don't. My wife takes the MiL to Teesside Park every Monday, Tuesday we go to Saltburn for F&C.

We live in Marton the crime rate is pretty much zero, the odd daft kid at the shops.


30 minutes to Whitby which we don't go to often enough, up into the dales again we don't do it enough.


I like the people. Each to their own.

Like the sentiment Plymouth or Torquay (through footy) is the nearest I've been.
The "Garden of England" Kent is a nice place. Remember year's ago when I lived in SE London going for a mooch on My scooter seeing some Gaffs that were unreal. Of course it has it's sh"tholes  too like everywhere.
Year's later, when I was working   begging in that area Sandwich.

That's a lovely place, not the snack, the one where the golf course is, the Viagra factory is on the way to Margate.

I haven't been back to Middlesbrough for nearly 8 years, but even then I was saddened about how much of a shithole has become.I'll be back again in November for me Dads 70th,not exactly looking forward to showing my 2 daughters around hemlington and Coulby where I grew up

I left Hemlington in 1996 when it was still alright(ish). I was quite well known so had very little chew
