Green Football Weekend coming up. Football fans, clubs, authorities and media are teaming up to push towards a greener football future. Middlesbrough Supporters Forum has combined with MFC where much of the emphasis is to highlight the environmental options already available on matchday and to look to build on these with the help of supporters.
Nationally Green Football Weekend is hoping to reach fans through their stomachs. We, the footballing community have the power to drive change like no other. And this Green Football Weekend, that change starts with our stomachs.

If the UK's football fans had one veggie meal a day, we could save the equivalent to removing 5.5M cars from the road, each year.

The Riverside now serves vegan pies and veggie burgers in the concourses. You are missing your Sunday dinner so why not give one a try at the Sunderland game.

There is a recycling hub for small electricals - bring in your unwanted clutter of old mobiles, remotes, hair dryers, small radios  etc to collection points at the FanZone and behind the North Stand. They will be recycled.
Sadly public transport provision is poor for the Riverside. Car sharing could be a pool resources and save money. For anyone cycling to the stadium there are bike racks at the FanZone and outside the East Stand. We hope to work on a green route to the ground in future. With tree planting opportunities along the line of the walk.
Small steps against a very formidable opponent in climate change but there are so many of us in football we do have the power to make a difference.

Another lefty bandwagon from Westy.
Not sure about having a veggie dinner keep 5 million cars on the road mind 😁
