Jim Platt, mine & Kens favourite Boro keeper of all time, born this day in Ballymoney in 1952

Registered No486, Jim made his Boro debut in a 2nd division fixture on the 2nd October 1971 when replacing Willie Whigham in a 1-0 home win over Blackpool, becoming our 35th first team GK

18th November 1972 - My 2nd away game, he saved a penalty v Sheff Weds, IIRC, he saved a 2nd, but they scored from the rebound

Jim went on to play 468 games for the mighty Boro, with his final appearance on the 11th January 1982 away to Bishop Stortford in a 3rd round FAC replay, we won 2-1

He was also enjoyed playing upfront, No9 in this team sheet
