Kelham O'Hanlon became the 39th different Boro 1st team goalkeeper we've used since 1899, but sadly the end of Jim Platt's reign of Boro's No1 who made his debut all the way back to the 2nd October 1972 his time at the Boro, as our No1, was over & Kelham had the No jersey as Malcolm Allison, who laways thought that youth was to be the future of the game ended a legends career & started another players career

KO'H registered No551 when Malcom Allison gave him his 1st start at home to leaders Sheff Weds & in front of the MOTD cameras too, along with the return to Ayresome Park of a massive legend in our history then & still to this day, Jack Charlton

Big Mal is slowly getting the Boro going in the right direction, one defeat out of the last 8 league & cup games & the Sheff Weds game followed suit, with Stephen Bell putting the mighty Boro one nil infront when chipping the Wednesday keeper at the holgate end from a delicate pass from Ray Hankin

Big Mal, who IMHO, was an amazing manager for the Boro picked the following team

Kelham O'Hanlon
John Brownlee
Joe Bolton
Mick Baxter
Irving Nattrass
Heine Otto
Darren Wood
Paul Sugrue
Dave Shearer
Mick Kennedy
Stephen Bell
Sub
Ray Hankin

I was lucky enough to spend quite a bit of time in Big Mal's company when I worked for Lynn Salton's mam and dad in Welbury.
He was a kind and generous man, taking his time to speak with a young barman about the Boro and all things football.
