Spike was a Fantastic player. Nothing flash about him just a player who oozed class. Certainly worthy of being recognised as one of our best players ever. RIP

He played for England in Sydney in a 1980 centenary match, got the programme, in which he had to play in the final of the Japan cup we won on penalties then the following day fly to Australia & turn out for England

I agree on Spike. A great no 11.

Before him was David Chadwick a brilliant winger.

I'm sure Platt scored a hat trick playing centre forward for the reserves

He certainly did, he played a couple of times at CF for the reserves
I have a reserve teamsheet with Jim Platt at CF
