IMHO, Willie was the best Boro defender in my time following the Boro & one of the best Boro players too

After going behind our Willie scores his last ever away goal & our final goal of 1974, capping off a great unbeaten December & to a larger extent, a great 1st half of the season, our 1st season in the top flight for 20 years, we were actually competing very well with the big guns of the 1st division

What a massive shame such an elegant, stylish footballer played so little top flight football, not to mention, the lack of international recognition
