Just watched a for and against debate.

The lady in support effused about how much it has improved her street. People are more friendly etc etc etc.

The lady against just kept asking what about traffic in the next street. What about the traffic having to be pushed to the outer boundaries of that street. She basically said the lady was a NIMBY.

The lady for just kept like the lady against was classing the "boundaries" of her street 35 miles away in London.

Was the lady against point understandably grasped? She was on about the next street that has to cope with the overflow of that 1 street becoming a LTN?

Sometimes people just do not want to hear the other side.

They can put the entire Greater London in a fucking oxygen tent for me and ban every vehicle, as long as they all promise not to fucking leave it and come up here.

teamboro

They are coming to a street/town near you every council has been told to implement them eventually so don't think it will not happen here what they are basing the figures to bring it in has been proven to be false see ulez expansion and areas of Scotland that have brought it in

We already live in a low traffic area. One of the two roads in and out of the village has been underwater for a week.

Elevated enough mate thanks.
It would have to rise another 15ft or so to get up our field.
The gov "Flood Risk" mate still rates the houses as a 0.1% chance of flooding.
Doesn't make it any easier to get about though.

BoroRedKen

Cut off from people like that Tel would be my Nirvana.

I would happily take my chances with flooding.

Im not detracting from your situation Tel. It does look bad.

But i can see some of the "pros" of not having dickheads wandering around.

The boats are moored on the river at the pub - the building in the middle of the pic. Only a few of them ever move. Seems like a silly hobby.

That's the pub surrounded by water, our house is top right corner of the pic behind the white shed.
