I suppose one person's experience isn't everyone's. Reading about both married and singles being confined to Barracks after returning from GW1 to decompress wasn't my experience,
im assuming by decompress they mean a piss up? ...when we returned to camp, we formed up on the square and an offer of support to everyone who wanted or needed it was made...we were then told to fall out.

My regiment was probably one of the strictest going at the time, but they weren't arseholes....Confined to camp after returning from war...no, not my lot

Never been a thing unless it's for safety reasons like returning in the early hours you'd have to wait till morning to fuck off. Decompression is never done in the uk either it's done from Cyprus or whatever location you are deploying from but never the uk
