A 17-year-old boy has been charged over chants about Sir Bobby Charlton which were filmed at a Manchester City match, police have said.

Greater Manchester Police said it had investigated footage from City's match on the day the Manchester United legend's death was announced.

It said a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been charged with a public order offence.

He has been bailed to appear before Manchester magistrates in November

A life ban is silly but should also serve a warning to to others - the big issue is end-of-season celebrations. he of course was in time play.

 I agree with Lidds 1yr ban first up then life afterwards.
