Going upto near £204 a week starting April 2024.

I've never even thought about it till seeing it mentioned today.

What If you don't own your own house at that age?  That would barely cover rent.

Do retirement people get like housing benefit etc?

That's nothing in today's money!

There's a host of benefits available I believe - and some available if you own your own house. Pension poverty will only increase unfortunately

I think it's going to be £221 a week. It's why I will work until I am 69.

Nosmo, I was assessed for benefits I was lucky enough to get a zero.

Deferring can increase your pension by 8% a year I believe?

if you defer say £11000 work out how many £16 a week you need to get it back. And you gave to stay alive.

I never give advice as I was so p poor at it, but always take the cash.

Exactly what I was thinking.  When I last lived there in Yarm near 8 years ago now, absolutely no way even if we didn't have kids could we suffice on £450 a week between us.

No I didn't have a big posh Victorian house either.

Fuck the state pension. If I get to WO2/WO1 after 24 years service I will get £72.000 lump sum and £1700 a month for the rest of my life 👍👍👍👍👍

£1700 a month ain't great unless, you have a house free and clear etc, even then its not alot.

Still better than work though.

I'll be getting it every month from the age of 40 plus my lump sump and then another lump sum at 55. I have to make a second career for myself
