You made that up
No I've not made that up at all - it's a fact available for anyone to see in the club accounts, and seeing as Gibson is the  sole club owner making all key decisions he most definitely is responsible for all of it

Blott

You are saying the managers, the coaches, the recruitment have nothing to do with the way the team play?

You are getting desperate.

No, I'm saying he appointed them so ultimately if those people fail Gibson has to take the blame - the buck starts at the top and Gibson is the only one at the top 🤷🏼♂️

utter bollax. So the chairman of the BBC is to blame because some series does not make it. You are telling me that Bezos is to blame because some woman never received her parcel a day late, what a load of baloney. You employ people on their merits sometimes it doesn't come off sometimes it does.

Which if these were wrong before hindsight? Wilder, Carrick, Pulis, Warnock, Robson, McLaren, Karanka, Monk.

Correct - the person at the top is at the top because they earn the big bucks and have to produce the goods, ultimately carrying the can for anything that goes wrong. This is how business works - Gibson is the one at the top so he gets the plaudits when things go well, as we've seen in the past, and now he has to take responsibility for the complete shambles (on the whole) that he's overseen since Eindhoven

You haven't answered who was a mistake, who would you have chosen

To help you understand what a fact is; Robson and Carrick have both managed MFC, an opinion is choosing who was the best midfield player.

All you have done is give your opinion, that is the Chairman of BP is responsible for the Tea served in the HR office.

Technically you are only getting shafted when forced into something.

Football is when you pay your money, you take your chance.

Mind you I did not pay for relegation, despite the fact it is always on the table at the start of a season - so understand your worries.

You might say this is the best time to be an armchair or a walk-up - you can switch off or fuck off - us loyal bastards s/c holders are stuck with it.

Swings and roundabouts! :morgan:

For what its worth, I dont care who our manager is & never have, never bought into we're lucky to have him, regardless, if he played for Man Utd, or Aidrie, he has to want to be here for a reason, if the manager turns out to be good one then thats a bonus

I've posted on here a few times the managers graveyard is full of 12 month managers.

I sort of feel for Carrick to a point, he inherited a good bunch of players who, forsome reason, just didnt want to play under Wilder, one player who Wilder sort of ignored until he had no other choice was Akpom, though TBH, most of our fans felt the same, then Carrick came in & changed him again & he become a revelation,

Which gets me to my point, MC came in when the atmosphere at the club was at a low ebb & he seemed to lift it overnight, players just didnt want yo play for Wilder & downed tools, were they good enough in the beginning is another matter & similar to Wilder, are Carricks players in the same boat

How many fans honestly disagreed with any manager Gibson has brought in, I can think of only 2 (edit - I didnt want Mogga for the simple reason he would be hounded & his legacy tarnished when results turned, they did & he was) in Southgate & Monk

Southgate I didnt want for the simple reason, IMHO, he was still good enough for another 12 months as a player was untested as a manager but more importantly, our stock as a club was high with just losing a european final & an established PL club

Having suffered relegation & with parachute money Gibbo turned to Monk, I posted at the time & throughout that summer with money to burn I wanted Warnock & was a bit disappointed we ended up with Monk, who in the end, just wasted millions, again who would have seen that coming & Gibbo backed him, as he has done every manager

How can Gibbo be blamed for how each manager turns out after 12/18 months, its all down to the football gods if hes a successs

Fans have a right to criticise Gibbo yes, after the initial honeymoon period things have started to turn sour at our club but surely thats down to the players brought in & performances on the field
Nobody was slagging off Gibbo during Wilders 1st 6, 7 months in charge, or Carricks time up to the Coventry playoff games, but when results turn fans do too

When we brought in Scott & at the time I was posting OTR who were saying we were lucky to have Wilder, then Scott & later Banks & were great additions who will bring in quality players, again it worked for a while & again when it turns sour its down to Gibbo, yet he acted on advice from others around him who he pays & trusts with more football knowledge

I would say a large % of championship clubs are losing money, we are a midtable to top 6 championshop club, when we get it right, as we have done a few times during my time supporting the Boro, its fantastic, when the bad times come they last longer & feel worse

Hopefully Carrick can overcome the one thing hes not improved on, our defence then maybe we can move forward, we might even have the new Akpom in Latte, who knows, football is full of suprises

Maybe its not 12 month managers graveyard, maybe we are a club that ruin CF's & managers

We feel our predicament is worse than other clubs because we see ours day to day, im not having a go at anyone for shouting down Gibbo, thats what football is all about, opinions & we care about our club

Well written and accurate erimus

Maybe some of these moaners just haven't been around as long as we have?

The success of Robson has given a false sense of entitlement?

We have always been and always will be a mid table to top 6 Championship club like many others.

Thats fine by me - I'll still be going

Dont get me wrong Ural, I was happy to back Woodgate when I heard of his visons on how he wants his teams to play, so what do I really know, the difference then we were a championship club opposed to the club Southgate became manager of

Even against Blackburn when we could have been 4, 5 goals down when we started to play we could & should have drew level, regardless of how many goals we could have shipped in we could have scored a few ourselves, we seem to just play end to end football & our defence isnt good enough to be continualy playing so open to keep teams out

I know its a big IF, but if our defence can become a bit tighter & Latte manages to compose himself with the many chances he's getting then we'll turn the corner, at the moment I dont see how Carricks is happy with performances all over the pitch, given the chances we hand to the opposition, but he must see on the training pitch that things are working & has the confidence to say it'll come good in the championship, all we see is us at the bottom of the league with a minus 9 goals against, small margins

One thing we have to end is the managerial merry go round we have at our club

One thing we have to end is the managerial merry go round we have at our club

Clearly we have problems defensively which need to be urgently addressed

Woodgate is supposedly the coach for this but I see the same failings every game which leads to goals against so maybe he is the one that needs to go?

We get put under pressure and all rush back in and populate the 6 yard area leaving the space gaping for a pull back and a shot from 12 yards. Must be a nightmare being the keeper.

Fry seems to want to do it all himself which only contributes more to the general panic

I think Howson used to be the one to stop that but he is not the same player he was and cant do it now.

Nothing suggests we have fixed the full back issues yet

If I can see what is happening then surely Woodgate can?

Then lets calm down a bit up front and start putting a few of these chances away

Failing that Neil Warnock may be available soon?

It's the fact Gibson seems to repeat the same mistakes, or similar ones that is getting fans backs up. Of course every managerial appointment is a gamble to some extent but Gibson has a bad habit of throwing the baby out with the bath water. He sacked Karanka when he should have stuck with him, failed to back him adequately in the January transfer window of the relegation season, then inexplicably 5 months later gave the absolute fraud Monk more money to spend than any other manager in the club's history. It's mind boggling decisions like this that have put the club into its current pickle, and the seemingly endless managerial swinging door opening and closing every 12-18 months. Now once again after a promising start to his career here  Michael Carrick looks like he might be on a knife edge after the clubs recruitment team appear to have delivered a mixture of "prospects" and "hopeful punts" to replace the proven quality that left in the summer. It feels like deja vu all over again with a rookie manager having to cobble a team together capable of hitting top two (that was allegedly the target) out of squad with glaringly obvious inadequacies - it's just not happening with this squad, and even Pep couldn't get this lot up. I don't want to see Carrick go, he got us playing great football with the quality we had last season, but if he stays he needs much better than he has to work with now and probably an experienced coach alongside him. Woodgate is hardly experienced himself and I'm still baffled as to why he was brought back - he's not the answer. It all boils down to getting things right off the field so the club can be successful on it, and Gibson just doesn't seem to be able to get that side of things right, which is why the club keeps going round and round in circles, wondering why it's all gone wrong when the answer is patently obvious to most of us.
