One game , but not a lot to take from it other than Silvera & diang , this year however there IS  expectation , last year we just wanted to see a improvement.

It was a poor game to watch and Millwall could have been 3 or 4 up if they had been more clinical. Too much tippy tappy with no real penetration, and giving the ball away in dangerous places. The most annoying thing was the short corners, I hate them, pointless as we don't have the quality and craft to make them count. They were done under instruction, and in the end, the north stand and Lenihan were screaming for them to get the ball in the box. For me put a centre forward on who is a forward. Rogers should have been the number 10 with Forrs up top and Jones on the right.
What we need is a left back, coulson is not good enough, no matter how hard he tries. We need a central midfielder who can replace Howson as Barlasar isn't strong enough for me.
I won't be too critical as it is just the start of the season but the club are short of 5 players that made us tick when playing. Get that sorted with the same quality as we had last season, then who knows. Just hope this time we aren't chasing down a 15pts gap.

Spot on assessment of the day that , think Barlaser passes ok, lacks pace , but lack of movement was criminal at times

I thought Coulson was OK, not the stand out player to give stick to. We were bang average.

Big problem - it was 35 minutes before we had a shot of any description

This dont shoot outside the box policy of MC seems a bit short sighted

We have now only won 2 games out of the last ten

Last 7 games we have had about 9 shots on target and scores 2 goals and that was with Archer and a fit Akpom.

We all knew the areas we would struggle once Archer was gone and nobody can say Akpom is going to repeat last season, his career to date suggests it is a one off but we are going to have to hope he can do something similar again.

We are going to be an easy task for most teams, especially at the Riverside. The majority will come and sit back, we are lacking pace and a killer final ball meaning teams can get numbers back - Millwall did it with ease and we are always likely to get caught on a counter and our defenders hardly scream pace.

We need a fit Howson for both the team and in particular Hackney.

We need a striker, simple as that. Crooks is not what we need and Coburn should start ahead of him

However, its one game, lets hope it gives them the kick required.
