Nothing wrong with Stewart's goalscoring record if the price is right and he can stay fit. Him and Akpom as a 10 would be worth a watch and offer a decent frontline threat

They might have got close I will say that. In the games I saw of them without him, they didn't half miss some sitters that cost them points. He you would have thought but never can be sure would have put them/most away.

as funny as this sounds he is no more a risk than Akpom is in asking him (Akpom) to bag 20 goals or more like last year. Both could fire us to promotion or totally flop - one through injury one through failing to perform anywhere like last year. On paper a dream pairing but, but and there you have it full of buts until they get to do it or not do it on a match day.

I can see him coming to Boro, more than I can see Akpom staying.

He will be fit, just not match fit, and like Akpom has probably intentionally avoided pre-season games to avoid any kind of injury until his future is sorted out one way or another.

The Mackems are in exactly the same position we are with Akpom - bar they've been a bit more public about things. Maybe they've agreed something with Boro and that's what has given Dury the nod to push along the Akpom snippet/info into the open. A forward/striker in suddenly doesn't make Akpom the be-all and end-all in this window.

I means we are holding out on a transfer fee for Akpom that matches our valuation but not the buyer (Palace/Brentford/Luton/some other shite London club?)
