How strong was that team!
Graeme Souness didnt feature in the 1st few games of the season, Brian Taylor, who could count himself unlucky, played alongside, my favourite Boro captain of all time, Stuey Boam, with Willie Maddren playing in midfield

2nd home game of the season v Carlisle, Graeme Souness was on the bench for the 1st time that season, early in the game Brian Taylor suffered a bad injury & was replaced by Souness, Willie Maddren dropped in alongside Boam with Souness going into the position he made his own & was head & shoulders above anything in the league & from then on a star was born the team had picked itself, Brian Taylor played no more than season, had a couple of gamescthe season after & eventually left to sign for Rochdale, against big Jacks wishes

Greatest player I've seen in a Boro shirt is Souness.

He was a fuckin beast of a player.
