Could very well be, though I think that Jones & Silvera will probably start

Looking forward to the season, as we do most seasons but I certainly wasnt one of the I hope Carrick doesnt leave us in the summer for a bigger, better club, we're at the same stage we were last summer.

For me, Carrick has to prove it all again & not become another Gerrard, Lampard, great player but limited as manager

Mike Peeler

I think he is a little bit snookered coz of injuries and he maybe has not got players in yet that he wants. So for example someone could come on in the second half today and play a blinder, that could then see them start next week.

Bar that happening -I would say yes, today's starting eleven will kick off the season next week.

A Left-winger we've picked up from Manchester City's academy who we're having to play as a centre-forward because with a week to go before the start of the season we've only got a player from Brentford's stiffs as competition up front. What a fucking shit show!

I didn't expect much of a spectacle from this game to be honest. After all what player wants to attempt a hard tackle and miss the season start ?I thought McNair looked ok in the RB slot. Van den Berg is looking a bit sharper and could do a job for us, Silvera gave little flashes of what he could be capable ( he looks quite pacy) Hopefully today was a one off for Dieng but the distance he comes out from goal worries me in that some fast pacy forward might catch him.We could have 2 up in the first half but for some nifty Auxerre defending. I don't know his name but the Auxerre No 17 was playmaking for them and although I know it's a friendly we should have picked him up numerous times. We kept trying the same old slow build up down the wings but their defensive midfielders cut us out each time. The 2 times we attacked through the middle we scored. On reflection not a bad result but we need to be more adaptable at switching play once the season starts in earnest. UTB!!!

Morgan Rogers is a fine example of a cutting-edge, contemporary striker perfectly dovetailing with the clubs new digital season card initiative, so much so his first effort today was completely contactless
