Last game before another boring, boring, totally mind numbingly boring, international break
How good was that winning performance away at West Brom?
Top of the table before kickoff, unbeaten at home since April last season, no goals conceded at home for 6 months either, we went to the Hawthorns & thoroughly deserved that win, we should have been a few goals up at the interval, but when the winning goal came it was worth the wait & what a pass into the back of the net from Skys MOTM, Hayden Hackney
Sky co-commentator Don Goodman commented on our performances, missed chance, overall play saying how good we look & when the chances start going in etc, great to hear
I really don't think any West Brom fan could begrudge us our win, we 100% deserved that, 10 out of 10 for the performance & result, allowing us briefly to slip into the final playoff place, which keeps us nicely among the chasing teams
Nice start to the month with our first back-to-back wins of the season & doubling our away wins of the season, we look to continue our away form at Watford where we won last season 3-2
Watching McGree's game last night (Tuesday), when we're out of position, he keeps looking over his shoulder to let Borges know he's aware of what's going on behind him, if needed, Borges knows he has someone to help him down the left-hand side.
McGree is the one who makes us tick, the one we need to wrap up in cotton wool, this also allows Azaz in to a position he can influence the game more, as he did
Azaz drifts in & out of games but the last two games, wow, what an intelligent footballer he's proving to be, sometimes he comes across as quite slow, not strong enough, he's got good footwork, protects the ball really well & certainly has an eye for a pass, shot in him
Doak continues to shine & shows what we had when Jones first burst on to the scene, saying that, Jones for me is still an important part of our team, which he showed when replacing Doak, helping us out defensively
Edmundson has also hit the ground running, two excellent performances against both Stoke & Albion, will/should Clarke walk back in if fit.
VDB looked as if he'd not been away, so calm, so good at reading the game, like a throwback to Pallister/Maddren
Watford who lost 3-0 last night (Wednesday) are one place & one point below the Boro in 8th place with a minus one GD
Boro dropped out of the playoffs to 7th in the Championship
If all players come through unscathed then the team picks itself

Whisper it quietly, we just may have turned the corner, 👍
Great stuff Erimus. A player to add who played for both clubs- Ray Lugg.
Think we can win this one 2-1
Erimus, would you like me to send over a programme from the game on Saturday. More than happy to do so, pal.

OK pal. No probs. I guess you're collection could take over a substantial space!! Hopefully will enjoy the game - moreso if we win!!!!

0-2 to the Mighty Boro.
:champs:
Agree with the Azaz assessment, he's got a great touch, can shift the ball and can pick a pass, and he'll just get better as him and his team mates blend together and learn each others games
Tough place to go, again I'd be happy with a point
Them 1 Us 1
Tonight first Championship game, Mackems v Leeds, think a home win only for the fact I can see Leeds in the mix challenging us more than Sunderland, taking points off Ledds will benefit us more, IMO mind
Carrick spoke well of Woodgate in his Watford press interview, that'll upset a few on other social media platforms who continually shout him out.
He's part of a good management team, as is Leadbitter too
1-4 Boro
My only concern is...... why we will not be playing in Red ?
We have to play in rwd, surely
away win 1 - 3 to Boro
I'VE HEARD THE NEW AWAY KIT WILL BE GETTING IT'S FIRST AIRING 👍💪💪💪👍

Mind numbingly, utterly, no interest at all, boriiinnnnnnnnngggggggg
Excellent win there last season, great finish from McGree & Coburn
We should be wearing our traditional colours
Watched the Leeds game last night, would have preferred a Sunlun win as I cant see them defending their way to a top 6 finish come May
They huff & puff alright, cant agree with co commentator Gooalman, who I like as a pundit, that they have a very good championship team, they really dont, they were lucky they caught us on a bad day & lucky last night
Leeds will be top 6, not top 2 either
The players will be settling down now to their pre match pasta meal, light training session in preparation for kickoff
Very early doors I know but a good win can see us up to 4th in the Championship
3-0 to the mighty Boro

Out of the 3 games McGrees plays this one is "easier", no disrespect to Watford
If we are to be serious playoff/top 2 contenders we have to play/win well without McGree
Draw
Brentford.
West Brom.
Bolton.
MK Dons.
Todays coupon.
Shares Crocky!

Hopefully Hamilton can play that same role, protect Borges & have n impact on the game, so too with Azaz he carries on his good form of late
I think McGree missing will have a massive impact.
Let's see but it's not a good sign.

Good cross from Azaz (his general play apart from finishing has been good) - Lath should have done better. :rav:

You just jinxed him :rudi:
- Same old same old game pattern.
- Possession % very high
- General passing good.
- Finishing poor.
- Gave away a few dangerous chances to the opposition.
- We are all down the right hand side with no balance on the left again.
- Sub Hamilton at half time - I honestly think I could have played better than him that half. I can't see anything he is good at - passing, shooting, tackling, movement, positioning, crossing, heading, going past a player - he's bad to bang average in all of them. Waste of a shirt.
- We badly miss McGree.

MYSTIC CLEM PREDICTION: Hamilton gets subbed for McGree this half.
I'm all for moving away from the slow building passing from the back we see at home. But attacking at pace, en-masse, leaving no one in our own half to confront a counter-attack is just plain mad!
I predict Jones will come on for Doak at some point

Typical again defending 😔😔😔
FFS
Absolutely gutted, another gane we've thrown away, creally thrown away
Doak had the chance to square atcone nil up, they equalise two minutes later
Azaz should have had a goal
We litterly just bottled it, totally
Dying minutes put Forss on :unbelievable:
Great, now for some time wasting.
Please Carrick dont say the lads done well because they totally threw that game away
Azaz and Latte Lath missing golden opportunities cost us - again
Threw that away.
We have to start taking our chances.
Dropped down to 9th place, 😔
Dieng nowhere near good enough for their 1st.
We love conceding from long throw ins.
Weak mentality and all over the pitch.
They never really got going but didn't need to against our flimsy defence.
They bring on all these big players and totally out muscled whilst we continued to play Bryan Robson style entertain-at-all-costs football.
Borges nowhere (again) for their first and we even made things even easier for them by effectively going down to 10 men by bringing that spud Berzog on. Pathetic.
- I've been impressed with him so far this season but I think Morris had a poor game. Both goals came from an area our defensive midfielder should be in.
- Lath is looking like a half season wonder at the moment. Time for a different striker - Forss or Conway. I wish we had kept Coburn.
- Hackney and Ayling were off form today too.
- Jones and Mcgree unfortunately offered very little.
- Hamilton is turd and Doak faded (although they stacked his side knowing we would offer nothing down the left)
- Dieng should have done better with the goals in particular the first one.
- Azaz had a good game but weirdly turns into a baby lamb when it's time to shoot.
All that said we should have won comfortably - it was in our hands.
:carrick3:
WHEN I SEEN MCGREE ON THE BENCH I JUST KNEW WE WHERE NOT GONNA WIN THE GAME 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
FFS.....
Totally gutted, but its just the life of being a Boro fan, typical Boro
Threw it away by the sound of things
Latte Lath needs dropping, give someone else a go for a good few games
Agree need someone different up front now Forss is back Carrick had no excuse not playing him upfront
We were so comfortable and really added to our own woes. Once more totally exposed down our left flank.Really need to tighten up. This passing teams to death with no end product cost us and gave them confidence. Disappointing.
Second goal for them should have been blocked by a defender, we'll be lucky to make the Play offs, dropping too many easy points. :carrick3:
Managed to get the stream working in the second. We bossed it but we really need to take our chances. Can't afford to blow it this year
This game dominance with endless passes is easy on the eye and generally easy to defend.
Without any real penetration, Watford largely sat back to hit us on the counter.
For 75 mins it worked. And we then had subs on that were not effective - unlike there's.
All in all a game for the taking - but we really gave them ways back into the game not really deserved.
But the game we play offers chances to the opposition to smash and grab. Today proved to be one of these examples
I see Doak appears to be questioned on other forums. His final ball needs working on.However I will defend the young man - he will at least take on and try to beat a defender.
Something in very short supply in our team........

To be fair, the Watford left back had Doak in his pocket !
That was a very damaging defeat.

We didn't so much collapse like a pack of cards. Watford improved massively with their changes, whereas we made three very predictable like-for-like substitutions changing nothing!

I guess they are being careful with McGree coming back from injury while also trying to get a $3million signing going. He is fucking turd.
So Hamilton as hardly played a full game for us and yet according to some he's shite same as Rogers last season at the beginning :unbelievable:
As much as we didn't create enough goal chances I'm sat here thinking to myself, how did we lose that game yesterday
We created more chances than Watford and should have been at least another goal ahead before they scored their first goal, when they did score, our arses fell out, that's when we started just hoofing the ball up field instead of trying to hold onto it, absolutely plain as day they were going to nick the winner, so frustrating, but same old Boro. ☹️

He's played in 9 games for us and done absolutely fuck all. It's 100% fair to criticize that. You can only judge him on what he has done not what he might do. Do you think he has been great so far?
If he suddenly becomes Messi I'll praise him. That's fair too.
Played 150 mins in the league for us / in his entire career

Has he played well?

He's done ok. Too early to judge really. I won't be writing him off just yet.
If we've been found out, then how come its the golden missed chances that are stopping us collecting full points most games
Azaz isn't good enough to play #10 for us.
He's creative and can pass but that role needs goals in our system and his inability to find the net exposes Lath's lack of form.
I called the weakness in the side after West Brom and it's still there.

I hope Carrick doesnt stretch this loyalty to far, I thought Azaz played well against Stoke & West Brom but against Watford he was in & out & that miss within 4 minutes was awful, would like to see Alex Gilbert handed a try in that role, just to freshen things up & show he will reward players who show willing & are patient, once fit that is
GILBERT FORSS AND DIJKSTEEL HAVE TO PLAY AGAINST BRISTOL CITY...I WOULD ALSO GIVE BRYNN HIS LEAGUE DEBUT AND DEING BEEN ON SHITENATIONAL DUTY 👍
Forss should start if fit....but what's the chances of him being fit?

WHAT'S THE CHANCES OF ANY OF EM BEING FIT...FUCK ME HOW LONG OUT HAVE HOWSON AND FRY BEEN 🤔 AND LENIHAN...FUCK KNOWS WHO IS CHARGE OF THE TREATMENT TABLE...IS IT DOCTOR FUCKING CRIPPEN :rav: :unbelievable: :wankers:
Azaz's general play has improved and he can pick a pass but his shooting is woeful. It's like all the strength in his legs disappears the moment he shoots. He is easily pushed off the ball as well - maybe he needs a few days in the gym to bulk up. :rudi:

Smithy has been out for about 12 months as well
Squad of crocks
I know it's early days but Matthews has disappointed I'm afraid. To date he hasn't been prepared to take on his man. His passing appears to have been largely sideways and he hasn't offered any goalmouth threat.
Not passing judgement just an opinion to date.
I am sure there is a lot more to come when he is settled into the club. Still a youngster with little first team action.

That Azaz isn't good enough to play the 10?
You think 2 in 11 is a good conversion rate for a #10 do you?
