Our season started with 6 straights defeats, against what any of us really expected, even given the change over of players, I didnt expect us to fall so quickly, learning curve the new players & management, this poor run of results was halted with a 1-1 draw at Sheff Weds, which for me seen the 2 worst sides I'd seen this season, then amazingly, we went on to win 6 consecutive games & looking really good & in games batter that last season, then injuries to key players started to increase, we coped at 1st then the results started to suffer 2 wins in the next 8 games, with 3 defeats on the bounce, 4 defeats in the last 5 games, 3 of those defeats on the bounce, which leaves the mighty Boro sitting in 13th place in the championship, two points & 4 places above Swansea, yet still, only 6 points from a playoff place, typical Boro they raise your spirits have you singing from the rooftops then bang, you feel as low as a snakes belly, its what we're uses to & the reason we love our club
I still the last 3 results were aviodable, we gave the points away when we could have had wins against Leeds & Hull, with the only doubt would be Ipswich, maybe a draw if we had played with a bit more conviction
This league is crazy, such a tight league, apart from the top 2 the 4 playoff places are still up for grabs with teams sitting below Boro, except Birmingham who have Rooney in charge, can look at themselves thinking they have a chance of gatecrashing the party, anyone can beat anyone in this league
As mentioned in the Hull match thread, its another game when a toss of a coin of what the line up will be, but pleaeeeeee some game soon our injury crises has to start improving & the big players will start returning, fingers crossed, push us on & get us over this latest awful run we're on, regardless of players returning Carrick/Woodgate have to work out how to try & stop giving so many sloppy goals away, the opposition don't seem to work hard to score
I still have confidence that we'll come through this poor run & mount a serious bid for a top 6 place, mind 50% of the league can say that

My property portfolio and affluent lifestyle is all there for HMRC to see.
I'm actually playing 'Mousetrap' with Eddie Vedder, Letitia Dean, Jimmy Cricket, Salman Rushdie and Anthea Redfern round Bob Geldof's, So won't be attending unfortunately.

Me and my pal tried to hitchhike to Swansea for that 82 relegation game. Got as far as Bromsgrove then gave up at 3pm. We didn't get back home until 10pm Sunday night.
No map, not much money, back to school on Monday.
Pair of idiots 😁
But it did teach me a lesson about the goodness in most people and the kindness of strangers.
I wish Carrick would play Corburn and Lath upfront instead of Crooks tricky game this
2-0 Swansea hope I'm wrong
Great write up E man as usual

First touch like a Redcar mule
Kavanagh on the bench, about time, class for the lad whose been doing really well over the past 18 months
Not saying it's going to work 100% won't know to kick off time anyway so pointless clicking it now

Ill post others if that's no good worth a try for those who don't mind a stream
Crooks has been awful last 2 games, not knocking him one bit as from someone who signed a contract extension in the summer with Carrick saying, he's happy he's signed but cant promise him minutes on the pitch, to then be an ever present & do well in all the games he's played, barring the last couple, then I hope he finds his form soon enough
This one works if you put a little effort into it .

best of luck :carrick4:
Out of nothing in a very poor game a really good passing move & good finish from Greenwood for his 5th of the season
All credit to Crooks work rate for the goal. He's easily been our stand out player so far.
Defensively we've been non-existent. No real fault of the players - more how they're told to defend the half-way line.
Cracking through ball from Crooks & a very good finish
Shit defending again 1-1 :unbelievable:
Fry's positional play sometimes is amateurish at best.
Good & bad from Crooks there, lovely ball for our goal then lost the ball to easily & 30 seconds later its in the back of our net
Gerrrrrrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnn there
Im over the moon.
Just wish it was not him that scored.

Not even Dick Turpin was as blatant as that!
The missing players cant get back soon enough, a good win for us today, putting an end to an awful run, but we came away counting our blessings, though on the flipside, the previous 3 games we've been penalised for mistakes we've made, apart from their goal today, we got away with it
Another injury to add to the list, fingers crossed Diengs injury is minor
Think Leicester & Ipswich have more or less secured the automatic slots, with Leeds & Southampton to finish in the 2 of the 4 playoff places, for me, West Brom are to inconsistent to be taken as a team who definitely occupy a playoff slot, maybe they will, maybe they wont, which leaves 2 places between 8,9 teams to fight out the remaining 2 places
Intetesting january for a lot of clubs
Great write up as usual Erimus 👍We rode our luck today but maybe our luck is changing.50/50 balls seemed to go our way yesterday.I said at the start of the season that I thought maybe top 6 was a stretch too far and looked on this season as a consolidation one.
Busy December coming up ,starting with Port Vale ,West Brom and then onto Rotherham and Huddersfield. The battle bus has put some miles in this season.Still have faith in Carrick!! UTMB !!

Cheers Smoggers, said tge same, the past few weeks we seem to have been penalised for each mistake, yesterday it went our way, includinv the free kick, gap in the wall, Silvera keeping his head, hopefully as you say irs slowly starting to turn for us, but then another potential injury, this time Dieng
Hopefully Erimus ,Diengs injury might not be serious because he will be a big loss to the squad, hopefully some of our injured lads should be coming back soon.I don't know if you agree or not Erimus but Hackney and Mcgree are a big loss to the side at the moment.Hopefully Coburn will be back soon as I think he causes defender's problems with his physicality in and around the box.Looking forward to your future write ups mate 👍UTMB !!!
Optimism.
Reported.
Serious question Erimus
Best outcome is promotion via play off's
If Boro won them how do you think they would do . Would Gibson spend as much or as little as he can to try stay in the perm ?
In the real world is it going to be a straight up n straight back down ! that's seems to be more the case in this era of football the money clubs now well cemented in that league zero chance of them going down then the best of the rest tussle then the cannon fodder Sheff Utd Luton etc
What do you expect to happen if Boro go up next season Erimus ?
For me I think Carrick will only stay providing Gibson shells out as much as he can .
Gibbo for me will buy a few half decent players , more loan deals / free transfers and try stay up the cheapest option.
what you expecting Ermius on a return to the top

A massive miss, more so Hackney, such a vital cog in our team, with those two fit we'll improve tenfold

Well Mr Crocky,
We'll buy a load of sh*te that no-one else wants, get dicked every week, might get the odd draw, lay down and die, then end up back where we are.
Any other soccer stuff you want to know, feel free to ask.

West Brom could only draw with Stoke & as the table shows, 6 points separates teams from 5th & 6th right down to the mighty Boro
Thats how football should be, not a top 4 then a billion points difference to the rest
We are going up.
