Our 1st match & the 1st Boro player to score 4 goals in a competative Boro game as a league club
John Brown, in his only season at the club, became the 1st Boro player to score 4 (haul) goals in one game when the mighty Boro beat Bishop Aukland 4-0 in the FACQ3, taking his tally to the season to 8 goals
He was also credited with scoring our 1st ever away penalty, which was at Chesterfield on the 22nd september 1900 our 1st league away win
10 goals in 28 appearences, remarkable stat

Bob Dylan was a big Boro fan
It's well known. A lot of his songs are about Boro players from the past
And the Bob End was named after him
True . . .
He wrote a few tunes about the club:
Mogga's farm
Waiting to get beat
You ain't going nowhere
4th time around
Ballad of a Wolfman
Don't fall apart on me tonight
End of the line
Gates of Ayresome
Girl from the north ormesby
A hard rain's gonna fall,
Plus many, many others
And who could forget the hit 'Knocking on Riochs door' from the classic album 'Tangled up in red and white'
